Collaborative Storytelling: Building Beginning Readers' Story Comprehension (K-2)
Feedback form is now closed.
Challenge your assumptions about storytelling and expand your skills! Storytelling with beginning readers is at its best when teachers blur the line between the teller and the listener. In this workshop, learn ways to invite your students to elaborate on the telling by adding expressive voices and gestures for characters, generating appropriate dialog, and adding descriptive sensory details.  As evidenced in classroom after classroom, students’ comprehension soars when storytelling becomes an active, collaborative experience.
